Role Overview:
Great opportunity for a Civil Engineering student looking to get an “IN” to the engineering industry!  Metric Engineering is looking to hire a Part-Time Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) Operator.  The RTMC utilizes Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to monitor the roadways in the greater Orlando area.  The RTMC Operator coordinates with partnering agencies to expedite response to incidents and promote quick clearance.  The TMC works with cutting edge technology including traffic signals, Connected Vehicles (CV), freeway management, arterial roadway management, express lanes and more.  Operators will monitor and manage the roads using customized software for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
What you should bring:
  • Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering
  • Must be able to work various shifts from day-time to night-time, weekdays and weekends as operations are 24/7
  • Ability to work 8-hour shifts and up to 30 hours a week
  • Proficient computer skills are a MUST
  • Ability to work in a team, prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to pass a Drug Screen and FBI Background check 
  • Resume, availability to work and preference of nights/days and weekdays/weekends
