Transportation Drainage Manager

Role Overview:

Metric Engineering is currently seeking a Drainage Department Head to join our Jacksonville, FL Regional office (While preference is given to the Jacksonville area, we will consider placing an experienced individual in our Orlando Regional office).  
This individual will manage a design team performing drainage design on civil projects, ranging in size from task work order-based contracts to major highway projects. This position also involves coordinating with multiple disciplines within the company (as well as managing subconsultants) and taking the lead in managing the drainage design assignments for large, multi-faceted projects. It also may involve marketing projects to clients (typically with other team members from varying disciplines).

What you should bring:
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • MS in Civil Engineering or related discipline a plus
  • PE Licensed, preferred in the state of Florida
  • 10+ years of related experience in drainage design for transportation projects
  • Experience with MicroStation, Geopak Drainage, ICPR, ASAD, HEC-RAS, and all other software used for drainage design on FDOT Projects
  • Familiarity with the FDOT Design Manual (PPM), FDOT Design Standards, and the FDOT Drainage Manual is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Management experience and the ability to direct a group of varying levels of experience (PE, EI, CADD Technician)
