Civil Engineer/Engineer Intern (Roadway)

Role Overview:
This position is responsible for providing professional services to the Ft. Lauderdale region and other miscellaneous areas for various civil-related projects.  The services will include engineering design and analysis, plan and specifications preparation, cost estimating, technical documents development, field reviews and site visits, and other miscellaneous services as assigned.
 
What you should bring:
  • BS in Civil Engineering - (EI certificate preferred but not required)
  • 2 years (minimum) of working experience related to roadway design
  • Previous intern experience in A/E industry preferred
  • Knowledge of Broward County Minimum Standards, FDOT Design Standards, and FDOT Specifications for Road and Bridge.
  • Proficiency with MicroStation 
  • Ability to prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Ability to interpret general instructions in order to develop project scopes, designs, and estimates
  • Ability to produce high-quality documents to communicate technical information to appropriate audiences
  • Ability to prepare instruction manuals, articles, and practical procedures
  • Ability to develop high quality documents to make technical information easier to use
  • Ability to prepare charts, graphs, or forms to go along with document
  • Ability to organize and write supporting documents for procedures
  • Experience with technical writing
