Role overview:
 Metric Engineering is seeking an accounting professional to provide financial, clerical, and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate payment of accounts, and expense reports for all Metric Companies. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.
 
Day-to-Day: 
-Open all accounts payable incoming mail and stamp as “received” and prioritize according to importance and due dates.
-Registering, verifying, and maintaining vendors (W-9 compliance) and client’s data base in Deltek.
-Preparation, maintenance, and submission of 1099.
-Review all invoices for appropriate documentation, coding, and approval prior to payment.
-Process 3-way P.O (authorization) matching invoices, and process invoices for payment.
-Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.
-Respond to all vendor inquiries.
-Process Rent payments for all offices.
-Review all expense reports for appropriate documentation, coding, and approval prior to reimbursement. Research and resolve discrepancies.
-Maintain and update controls of employees’ reimbursement expenses.
-Review all petty cash replenishment requests for appropriate documentation, coding, and approval prior to reimbursement. Research and resolve any discrepancies.
-Process checks for bi-weekly payroll.
-Process check runs and match payables to checks, obtain all signatures, and distribute checks accordingly.
-Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
-Assist with other projects as needed.
 
 
What you should bring:
 
·        Knowledge of general bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.
·        High School diploma or equivalent required.
·        Proficient in Microsoft Office.
·        1-3 years of Accounts Payable experience.
·        Strong work ethic.
·        Strong verbal and written communication skills.
·        Detail oriented, professional attitude, and reliable.
·        Strong time management skills.
·        Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a profession al manner.
·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
