Bridge Engineer

Role Overview:
Metric is looking for a Structural Engineer (PE) to join our Orlando office.  The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Independent management of bridge design task assignments
    • Preparation of design calculations
    • Development of contract drawings, specifications and estimates
    • Computer modeling of complex structures
  • Coordination with other design disciplines
  • Participate in project meetings with clients, sub-consultants and contractors as necessary
  • Monitor project progress and budgets to deliver projects on time, meeting scope and within budget
What you should bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with structural focus
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (FL PE preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience designing complex, major and minor structures, including prestressed beam bridges with pile supported substructure, Mechanically Stabilized Embankment (MSE) wall envelopes and overhead cantilever sign structure designs
  • Experience designing structural steel bridges
  • Proficiency with MicroStation, Microsoft Office Software, Mathcad and other related software
  • Knowledge of roadway design utilizing FDOT CADD standards, electronic delivery
  • Overall knowledge of project deliverables & management methodologies
  • Skilled in use of CADD for roadway design plans preparation and to perform calculations
